Making a pictograph

Today in maths we had an investigation - we had to find out what our favourite animal was. First we chose 4 animals, cheetah, turtle, snake and cat. Then we practised asking the class and collecting data using a tally chart. We could only ask 10 people. Then we drew pictures of our favourite and stuck them onto a graph to make a pictograph - a graph made of pictures!!

Important notices

Today we are taking home 2 important notices...

1: nits

Please check hair for these creepy crawlies and return to class as soon as possible.

2. Mrs Moorhouse says goodbye

At the end of this term Mrs Moorhouse will be moving to Cambridge and saying her farewells. As the notice explains a lovely new teacher will be taking Rm 14 through until the end of the year. We will meet her next week.

Missing teeth

Today in the library we read a book called lollipop, grandpa and the wobbly tooth! It was a very funny book because grandpa came up with very strange and funny ways to pull Lollipops tooth out.

Lots of us have been loosing teeth recently. Te Ariki tied string to his in the weekend and Bridget's got bumped out by a chair!!

Netball Opportunity

This is a message from Arron Leaity (arronl@arahoe.school.nz)....

If your child has indicated an interest in playing Netball for the school in the Waitakere Netball Competition. Please see below...

Year one and two

·      At this stage I have not received any information regarding the organisation of Year 1-2 netball for this year.  I have heard that it will be played width wise across one third of a court and there will only be 4 players on the court at one time.  There will also be no set positions.  Please let me know your thoughts on whether you are happy to take part.  We have discussed having in-house practices and games for this age group at school following the traditional netball format. All games will be played on Thursday evenings from 4:20pm & 5:00pm

Our bodies are our own

Today Constable Carl came back to visit us and we talked about our bodies. We used the correct names for our body parts. We learnt that our bodies are or own and we can decide what touch we want and don't want.
